"You got a big back garden?" Lee Dixon asked Roy Keane on ITV's Champions League highlights show on Wednesday night. "It's pretty big, yeah," replied Keane.
The question had come after some dismissive remarks from Keane about Liverpool. Keane threw it out there that if Jurgen Klopp's side were playing out the back of his house, he wouldn't open the curtains.
It's hard to figure out Liverpool at the moment. I think, it's hard to get excited about them. To me, they are going nowhere fast.
Again, they're neat and tidy, but defensively... Come the end of the season when the prizes are being given out, Liverpool will be nowhere near them. because at the back there are question marks about the goalkeeper... There's not too much to say about Liverpool.
I think if Liverpool were playing out in my back garden, I wouldn't watch them. They're just drifting. Drifting nowhere.
Keane did have some sympathy for Liverpool regarding their attempts to sign defenders during the summer transfer window.
It's easier said than done about getting defensive players in because the market's pretty small for top quality defenders. We saw Man City go out and get some fullbacks for £50m or £60m and maybe Liverpool aren't at that level.
They need more than one defensive signing. They're not going to get it in January and probably not next summer because they couldn't do it last summer.
They've had a good night but they've played nobody tonight. The bigger picture for Liverpool going forward: they are well behind the other teams.
