Roy Keane has launched an attack on former Ireland international Keith Andrews. The Dubliner is currently an assistant coach to Ireland senior manager Stephen Kenny.
In an interview with the Sunday Independent, Keane said regarding Andrews:
If I can make one point about the new Irish staff. I've heard a lot of bullshitters over the last 10 years and Keith Andrews us up there with the best of them.
The interview is written in a question and answer style. There appeared to be no prompting from interviewer Barry Egan regarding Andrews.
Keane was answering a question about how much he has missed Ireland during the Covid-19 lockdown and then started talking about his time as Ireland assistant manager to Martin O'Neill before taking a pop at Andrews. There was no follow-up question regarding Keane's opinion of Andrews.
Andrews was a critic of Keane during the former Manchester United player's time as part of the Ireland management team.
Keane went on to say that he would like to get back into management once again and could see it happening in the near future.
