Manchester City continued their turgid form this season as they suffered a first defeat at home to Liverpool since 2018, The 2-0 defeat gave the Cityzens their fourth defeat in their last 6 and after being knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, the FA Cup looks like the only trophy City have a chance at winning this season.
If you were to look at the stats you would think that City were unfortunate not to win as they had greater possession,, shots and even expected goals. But the real story of the game was that Liverpool didn't need to leave second gear as they were happy enough to sit back and let City have the ball and they prevented City having any real chances.
Despite this form City are still in the top 4 but could be dumped out of the Champions League positions as Newcastle, Bournemouth and Chelsea are just one point away from them and Aston Villa just two.
Jack Grealish "Under Pressure" Of Potential City Exit Believes Roy Keane
This January we saw Pep Guardiola undertake a rebuild of his Manchester City squad. After not spending an obscene amount of money last summer, City spent over £200 million in January for the signings of Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Victor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov. While there's been glimpses from Marmoush and Nico, City don't really look rejuvenated and many predict more moves will be made in the summer.
With the much needed potential additions it means that there will be sales in the summer. Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gündogan's contracts expire in the summer and the likes of Bernardo Silva, John Stones and Ederson will be entering the final year of their deals. You can expect that a couple of them may be shown the door but there could be more players surplus to requirements at the Etihad.
Speaking on Sky about a potential Manchester City rebuild, Roy Keane voiced his concerns that Jack Grealish, who's for the most part not been a part of City's team for a while now, could be one of the players Pep Guardiola looks to move on to generate some cash for new arrivals.
I think Jack is under pressure. You know what, Pep's looked at Jack now, he's picking up injuries, his lifestyle and all that type of scenario and look at some big games last year where he didn't even bring him on.
I think Jack might be under pressure. Whether Pep wants to move him on, I think that will be an interesting one. The other ones I think are straightforward, the older players 32/33, contracts are up you think that's an easy decision. But I think there would be a few players under pressure were it that Pep wants to get rid of them.

Since playing a key part in City's treble, Grealish's career at the Etihad hasn't gone as many would've thought. It would be safe to say that if City were to sell him now they wouldn't get the £100 million they spent on him.
Despite the injuries and lack of form you can still see that there's a player there in Jack Grealish. Maybe a fresh start is what he needs to get back to his exciting, entertaining best.
