Arsenal vs Manchester United was a fixture that defined a large part of the Premier League era.

They were the two best teams at the turn of the century, with the pair sharing every league title from 1996-2004. As a result, the meetings between the clubs would often go a long way towards deciding where the championship would end up in a given season.

That has not really been the case for quite some time, although this season has seen us get a bit closer to the heyday of the fixture.

Roy Keane throws dig at Gary Neville over Arsenal highlight

They shared some titanic battles down through the years, with no shortage of highlights.

Ahead of the game between the sides this afternoon, Sky Sports opted to have a look back at some memorable moments. With Roy Keane, Gary Neville, and Cesc Fabregas part of the punditry panel, they opted to show one occasion where the Spaniard set up a brilliant goal at Old Trafford.

The footage featured some very questionable defending from Neville, with Keane being quick to have a go at his former teammate for his efforts.

Fabregas: I think Gary can do a little bit better, right Roy?

Keane: Absolutely.

Neville: How can I get blamed for this?

Keane: You just turned your back on it Gary, just go and engage him. You ended up doing nothing.

Despite the game being nearly two decades ago, he was never going to let that one go.

The conversation soon turned to 'pizza gate' an incident where Fabregas threw a piece of pizza at Alex Ferguson in the Old Trafford tunnel after one particularly bad tempered game.

Roy Keane wasn't actually present on the day, believing that his fellow pundit was fortunate that this was the case.

Fabregas: I already said what I had to say about this. I still feel a bit embarrassed about it sometimes.

Redknapp: Were you there Roy?

Keane: I missed that game. You're very fortunate I wasn't there.

Fabregas: Or maybe you're fortunate that you didn't get the pizza?

Keane: Maybe so. It was a margarita I hope?

We can only imagine what the Irishman would have done if he was the one that got the slap off the slice of pizza.

We're probably better off that we never got to find out.
