Erik ten Hag has been sacked as Manchester United manager, and Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as interim manager until the club find a replacement.
The decision to sack the Dutchman finally came after United's defeat to West Ham last weekend, but everyone in football circles knew that it was only a matter of time.
It is common knowledge that the club were actively seeking a replacement at the end of last season, but had a change of heart when United beat Man City in the FA Cup final.
In fact, they even gave the former Ajax boss a new contract, despite the fact that they clearly didn't completely back him, and now with results going so poorly, they finally made the decision that they were contemplating at the end of last season.
As is the case with most football clubs, when teams are failing to perform, the blame is placed firmly at the manager, but United legend Roy Keane believes that there is more to it than that.
Shortly after the news of Ten Hag's dismissal broke, the Irishman posted a not so cryptic message on social media that tells you exactly where he thinks the blame lays.

A lot of the players at Old Trafford are the same players who ended up getting Ole Gunnar Solkjaer, and even Jose Mourinho the sack.
The pattern seems to be that the players perform poorly, a manager gets sacked, they find new life under a new interim boss, only to start performing poorly again when he is offered the job on a full time bases.
However, ten Hag has to be held accountable for adding players with a poor attitude into the group, as they have spent big bucks on big names that are yet to deliver in a United jersey.
Whoever comes in to replace Ten Hag, will have their hands full.
