In his post match interview last night, Wayne Rooney was inevitably asked about Sir Alex Ferguson's comments on the Manchester United striker in his autobiography. Watch his reaction here:

Rooney's claim that Ferguson corrected the story that he put in a transfer request stems from these Ferguson quotes to Sky Sports:
"This is the nub of it: in the regulations, in your contract, if you write a letter and ask away or say you have asked away, you lose all your signing-on fees.
"He has never admitted that and never put in a written transfer request, which is what he has been sore at."
Ferguson claimed Rooney wanted to leave back in May but did he ever say Rooney had handed in a transfer request?
