Ronan Finn believes that referee Rob Harvey made two poor decisions which cost Shamrock Rovers dearly against Bohs on Monday night.
Bohs won the game 1-0 at a packed Dalymount Park.
In the 30th minute, Rovers had Aaron Greene sent-off for a challenge on Keith Ward. Midway through the second half, Bohs were awarded a penalty after Ward was deemed to have been fouled in the box by Finn. Dinny Corcoran scored what turned out to be the winner.
"I don't mean to sound bitter," Finn told RTÉ.
I don't think it was a sending off, we had a good view of it.
We'd played well up until that point. The sending off makes it a bit more difficult.
Bohs probably had more possession at that stage. I don't think they really hurt us then in the second half. We came into the game again and we were well in it, [despite being] down to ten men. If you'd come in [to the ground] after 50 odd minutes, you wouldn't have known [that we were down a man].
I thought we established ourselves back in the game. We were quite comfortable with ten men up until the penalty.
"It wasn't a penalty," added Finn.
"Keith Ward has come across me, I've stepped back from it and he's fallen to the ground. I can't believe the referee has given it.
"Keith was involved in the sending off; again I didn't think it was a penalty, I didn't think it was a sending off.
"We have to take that one on the chin."
