It's been a tough year for Jose Mourinho. The Chelsea manager has overseen more home losses this season then he has in his previous three years, faces legal trouble over the Eva Carneiro fiasco - and there are more rumours of upset among Chelsea's dressing room.
But a dressing room in turmoil isn't anything new for Mourinho.
We all know that Ronaldo isn't one that is fond of tracking back, and during Real Madrid's 2-0 Copa del Rey victory over Valencia in January 2013 - the pair squared up to each other.
The conflict started because Mourinho wanted his star player to track back and protect Madrid's first leg lead. In the dressing room after the game - Mourinho wanted to remind Ronaldo about why he gave that instruction.
The player, unable to contain his fury, got up from the bench where he was changing and began shouting, “After everything I’ve done for you, this is how you treat me! How dare you say that to me?!”
It's a far cry from how Ronaldo was reduced to tears when Sir Alex Ferguson went at him in the dressing room. In Ronaldo's first season at Manchester United - he wanted to showcase his talent against Benfica in the Champions League by trying to do everything himself. It wasn't working - and Ferguson tore into him.
In the dressing room, Ferguson could not contain himself: “Who do you think you are? Trying to play by yourself? You’ll never be a player if you do this!”
Ronaldo began to cry. The other players left him be. “He needed to learn,” said Ferdinand. “That was a message from the team, not just from Ferguson: everyone thought he needed to learn.”
These stories tell us two things. One - Ronaldo has grown a lot from his first season in Manchester. That incident is credited with helping him make it. Two - no one had heard of that story in the United dressing room until now - but Mourinho's dressing room bust ups seem to be common enough.
