Two Irish players were the subject of discussion as Ronald Koeman sat down with the press ahead of Everton's trip to West Brom this weekend.
Having missed his side's opener against Tottenham last week, Seamus Coleman will again be absent this week as it's going to be touch and go as to whether he can participate in Ireland's opening World Cup 2018 qualifier against Serbia on September 5th.
The Killybegs man who wore the captain's armband in France this summer is at least two weeks away according to his manager, which would make him a major doubt for the trip to Belgrade.
Seamus isn't ready. He'll be out for another two weeks at least.
In terms of McGeady, we all knew that he was surplus to requirements but Ronald Koeman has confirmed that the former Celtic and Spartak Moscow man needs to find a new club if he wants to play football this season, and claimed that it was a "fast decision" that was made early into his reign as Everton boss.
Of course we make a fast decision about [Oumar] Niasse, make that fast decision about McGeady and maybe two or three more, will be very difficult for them to be part of the team because we have a big squad.
There has been very little talks in terms of where Aiden McGeady might land, but as we near the end of the transfer window it is likely that his immediate future will be sorted sooner rather than later. You would have to imagine that Everton would only be interested in a permanent deal after the Sheffield Wednesday loan at the end of last season was unsuccessful.
