After an appalling start to the season that hit a nadir with yesterday's 5-2 hammering at home to Arsenal, Everton have sacked manager Ronald Koeman.
Koeman was appointed at the beginning of last season and performed admirably, finishing seventh in the League. The turning point has proved to be the selling of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United, however, and the subsequent failure to adequately replace him.
Everton now lie in the relegation zone with just eight points from nine games, in spite of the biggest transfer splurge of Everton's history.
