There were some crazy scenes in a Romanian league game between Petrolul and Gaz Metan last night. Six players were issued with red cards including one to Petrolul goalkeeper, Mircea Bornescu, for biting a Gaz Metan player.

The game descended into chaos in the 64th minute when a Gaz Metan player went down injured close to the centre circle. Petrolul players dragged him to his feet and then Bornescu bit down on the players arm, a moment which caused the commentator to mention Luis Suarez.

Bornescu was the third player to be sent off by that stage of the game. Three more would see red in the 90th minute, leading to Gaz Metan completing the game with just seven players on the pitch.

The game finished 1-1.
