As political tensions between the UK and Russia rise, Chelsea's billionaire Russian owner Roman Abramovich has found himself caught up in the mess.
Residing in London on an Investor's visa, the Financial Times have reported that "UK authorities have yet to renew Russian oligarch's" visa.
Expiring a month ago, friends of Abramovich have revealed that the Chelsea owner has returned to Moscow for the time being.
With a net worth of £9.3 billion, Abramovich took over the London club in 2003 from previous owner, Ken Bates.
A usual presence at his side's bigger games, Abramovich was a notable absentee during his side's FA Cup win against Manchester United yesterday afternoon.
According to a friend quoted by the FT, Abramovich's "request for a new visa had not been denied, but said that UK authorities were taking longer than usual to renew it without offering any explanation."
