Marcos Rojo has revealed that he once got into a dressing room bust-up with teammate Zlatan Ibrahimović after he said the forward had a big nose.
According to Rojo, the pair had to be pulled apart by then Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. It's no surprise to anyone to know that Rojo would be involved in such arguments.
The Argentine defender is known to have a quick temper and to be rather reckless on the pitch. But one wouldn't have expected the row to be over such a small playground insult. Speaking to Infobae, he said tempers became frayed between the two during a game after Rojo didn't pass the ball to the Swede:
The pass between the lines was there. But there was Pogba alone on the left so I gave it to him, and Paul began to showboat. Zlatan starts cursing at me.
I follow him: "You close your mouth, Big Nose. You want all the balls.
The argument later continued in the dressing room at half time when according to Rojo the Swedish striker came in annoyed. " I'm in my place, taking off my boots. And he comes in, hot, kicking I don't know what... He stops, looks at me and yells, 'What did you say to me?', 'What did you tell me?" he said
Although he was standing up to Ibrahimović, Rojo confessed in the interview that he was hoping someone would step in and thankfully, for him, Mourinho came in to stop it escalating any further.
Despite the incident, Rojo says he has a lot of respect for the Swedish striker and he learned a lot from him and his winner's mentality.
Who wants to see round two of Zlatan vs Rojo with Mourinho as the referee? I know I do.
