The reputation of Ange Postecoglou grew to a remarkable degree over the last couple of years at Celtic. Arriving in Glasgow as a relative unknown, it didn't take long for the club's supporters to completely but into what the Aussie was doing at Parkhead.

The team played some wonderful football during his tenure, winning five trophies (including a domestic treble) along the way. He was also very impressive whenever he spoke in public, something that was always going to attract attention from elsewhere.

In the end, it was no surprise to see one of the Premier League's wealthiest clubs come calling, with Postecoglou set to manage Spurs next season.

The vast majority of Celtic fans will wish him all the best, even if they are sad to see him leave their club. In saying that, some people were a bit unhappy with the way his departure was handled.

Rod Stewart miffed with part of Ange Postecoglou Celtic exit

Legendary singer Rod Stewart is a huge Celtic fan and seemed to have a good personal relationship with Ange Postecoglou.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said that while he wishes him every success at Spurs, he was a bit miffed with one aspect of his exit from the club.

I'm a little bit disappointed with Ange. Every time they beat Rangers I used to send him a crate of wine, so Ive got to ask for it back now.

I was hoping he would stay and lead us into the Champions League...

The one thing that upset me, we were at the (Scottish Cup) final, and there was all this walking about kissing the shirt and holding the trophy up. Why didn't he tell us before?

If I was in his position I would have been straight out and said 'guys it's been a great two years, I've got an offer I can't refuse and I'm going to go down and manage Spurs, we will win on Saturday and that's it'.

It would have been nice for Celtic fans to be able to give Postecoglou a proper sendoff, although there was a sense after that cup final victory that he was on his way out of the club.

There is little doubt that the vast majority of them would love to see him thriving in the Premier League over the coming seasons.
