Robin Van Persie scored many wonderful goals throughout his long career and it may interest you to know that the 34-year-old Dutch striker still has an eye for the spectacular. Van Persie returned to boyhood club Feyenoord from Turkish club Fenerbahçe at the start of 2018 and last night scored his first goal upon his return to the Eredivisie club.
Feyenoord were 2-0 up last night against Gronigen when Van Persie was introduced into the fray. Within 50 seconds the former Arsenal man got on the ball and after a deft touch to evade a defender, curled a great shot into the corner of the net. There were thirteen years between last night's strike and the Dutchman's last goal for Feyenoord.
Feyenoord are 19 points behind leaders PSV having won the Eredivisie title last season. And for any misty eyed Feyenoord fans out there, here are the Dutchman's goals from his first spell at the club.
