Robin van Persie is one his way out the door at Old Trafford. Seemingly surplus to requirements under Louis van Gaal, van Persie seems free to leave Manchester United just three years after signing for £24 million from Arsenal.
The Guardian are reporting that van Persie looks to have found a new club in Turkish giants Fenerbahce. A fee between Fenerbahce and Manchester United is yet to be agreed, but van Persie has agreed personal terms with the Turkish club.
The 31-year-old Dutch striker has been persuaded by former Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt to join, and once he signs he will count Simon Kjaer, Diego and former Chelsea midfielder Raul Miereles amongst his new teammates.
After winning the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson in his first season at United, van Persie's status has fallen dramatic. He was van Gaal's captain with Holland in the World Cup in Brazil last summer, but with Wayne Rooney being preferred up front, van Persie found games hard to come by.
Van Persie could see a familiar face joining him in Fenerbahce, once Nani completes his medical with the Turkish club on Sunday.
