Everton beat Southampton in the first game of the day to record their first away victory against the Saints in 13 years. Romelu Lukaku won man of the match with a brilliant display capped with two goals.

This came after Lukaku made a classy gesture to a Southampton fan after he hit her with a wayward shot in the warm up.

Commenting on that, Everton manager Roberto Martinez tried to phrase something in a way that would suggest he wants Lukaku to repeat his performance, but got things slightly wrong.

Given the class of Martinez, we can be supremely confident that he isn't condoning violence against women here. It's just an unfortunate case of a foreign manager getting his phrasing quite wrong.
