While Liverpool's Champions League hopes may have suffered a potentially fatal blow at Anfield this afternoon, there was a dream send off for one of the club's most popular players of the 21st century.
Roberto Firmino will leave the club at the end of the season, meaning this was his last chance to play in front of a home crowd at Anfield. He would start the game from the bench, but with Liverpool trailing by one goal in the closing stages, he was given the opportunity to get them back into the game.
He did just that, scoring an 89th minute equaliser in front of the Kop.

While Liverpool were unable to find a winner, their supporters will be thrilled to see the Brazilian get a goal on his final appearance at the ground.
As a result, there were some emotional scenes after the final whistle.
Emotional scenes as Roberto Firmino given Anfield send off
Roberto Firmino may not have been as eye-catching as some other players during the Jurgen Klopp era, although the match-going Liverpool fans always appreciated unsung work he put in for the team.
He was without doubt as beloved as the likes of Mohamed Salah or Virgil van Dijk, even if he did not quite produce the individual numbers that those stars did.
Unsurprisingly, there were some emotional scenes after the game. The forward was serenaded with his 'Si Senor' chant, going on to shed a few tears himself as he left the pitch for the final time.

A deserved send off after playing such a pivotal role in Liverpool's success over the last few years.
This result did probably put an end to the club's Champions League hopes for next season, with Manchester United now only needing one point from their final two league fixtures to secure a spot in the top four.
