Liverpool have been linked with a move for Roberto Firmino for more than a week now.
Tony Barrett of the Times, someone with well-established connections to the club, wrote just three days ago that Liverpool were 'considering a move' for the Hoffenheim player who they have watched several times this season.
That consideration would seem to have moved up a gear with Brazilian media outlet Globoesporte.com reporting that Liverpool are 'close' to signing the 23-year-old.

They say that the player will cost around €25 million and that negotiations are entering the final stages.
The 2 reporters who wrote the Firmino to LFC article are covering Brazil's training camp in Chile so they very possibly have close contacts.

Just contacted one of the writers. He insists that Liverpool are favourites but refuses to say the deal is certain "until the player signs".

Firmino, who is currently on international duty at the Copa America, scored the decisive goal in Brazil's 2-1 win against Venezuela on Sunday.
The attacking midfielder joined Hoffenheim in January of 2011 and totalled 10 goals and 12 assists for the Bundesliga club last season.
