Sometimes, technology can be a great thing. The evolution of the Go Pro has led to some entirely new and different angles being broadcast of major sporting events.
Every year, Real Madrid run a charity legends match called the Corazon Classic. Previously Man United, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all participated, resulting in stacked team sheets. This year was no different.
The Galactico side was reunited, with Luis Figo, Raul, Fernando Morientes, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos all appearing. Roma were chosen as this year's opposition and they boasted Cafu, Simone Perotta and Marco Casseti amongst their ranks.
Brilliantly, Madrid decided to attach a camera to one of the participants. Roberto Carlos had a Go Pro strapped to his chest for the pre-match and the first 45 minutes. Madrid went 2-0 up before half time, with the Brazilian providing an assist for Morientes.
The camera has a sensational view of Figo's free kick which put Real two up.
A favourite part of ours is the free kick which the Brazilian left-back stands over. You know exactly what he wants to do when he takes a ridiculously long run up. A few steps and BOOM! Into the wall.
You can watch all the highlights, featuring an absurdly happy Ronaldo and a wonderful reuniting with Cafu below:
Given the camera angles, the on-pitch access and some of the names involved, the video bears a remarkable resemblance to one of the great football ads from yesteryear.
Remember this?
It got us thinking, what other matches would be good to watch from a players' perpective.
All we need now is for Roy Keane to do Soccer Aid again. Give him a Go Pro and see how long it takes for either the camera or Ollie Murs to break.
