Unquestionably one of the finest strikers on the Earth right now, Robert Lewandowski was pipped at the post by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the race for Bundesliga's top scorer.
The Dortmund man finished on 31, just one goal ahead of Bayern's Lewandowski, thanks to a final day hat-trick, but although the Munich side themselves recorded a 4-1 win over Frieburg, the Polish striker was not on the score-sheet.
And he's not happy about it.
Incredibly, Lewandowski has hit out at his teammates for not having his back and trying to help him claim the individual title, as he revealed to the media before Poland's meeting with Romania on Saturday [via ESPN].
It doesn't hurt anymore, but it did at first.
Maybe because I wasn't completely satisfied with the way my team helped me. Immediately after the last game, I felt anger. I was disappointed with my team. That was the feeling I had.
It's an honest admission from Lewandowski, but something you very rarely hear, especially from a player who will almost certainly be at the club again next season and will meet up with the teammates he accused of letting him down in a matter of weeks.
While his quality has never been in question, he certainly rubbed Irish fans up the wrong way which his fondness for hitting the deck in the two fixtures against Poland in the Euro 2016 qualification campaign, and while he was accused of being a bit of a tit on those occasions, you'd have to feel the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery would say the same about him here.
It wouldn't have helped to see how clearly the Dortmund players were trying to provide assists for Aubemayang, but after a season in which they coasted to the title, it seems Robert really wanted that little cannon trophy.
