We're all well aware of the effect that Robbie Keane can have on the family tv show circuit. The look of that young chap's face when his hero appeared on the Late Late Toy Show was nothing short of magical but there's only so many Irish television appearances you can make before the big guns start to take notice.

You haven't really broken American until Ellen Degeneres gets you up on the stage to do something nice and fluffy for the mid-morning crowd and Robbie can now firmly stick that down on the old C.V. It's PR gold and, despite the fact that he said 'secondively', we're guessing that the Galaxy marketing department will be delighted with the Tallaght man's contribution yesterday.

Ellen had a precocious young singer by the name of Kai on the show and it was revealed that he huge Galaxy fan and that he'd pack in the singing in an instant if it meant he could be a footballer. Cue Robbie Keane and some of his teammates.

All we can say is what an absolute sellout. We jest of course but, if we had to choose, we would have to say that the 1998 Robbie Keane is much more entertaining than the polished LA version.
