Robbie Keane singing Joxer Goes To Stuttgart: Robbie Keane takes part in an epic sing-song of Christy Moore's classic Irish football anthem in Cassidy's pub in Dublin.
Robbie Keane is a man loved dearly on this island due mainly to his ability to stick a football in the back of a net, over and over again, and his unstinting loyalty to his country in doing so. During his career you always got the impression that Keane would do anything to play for Ireland and this endeared him to us greatly.
And in retirement, Keano looks to be securing his iconic status by producing flawless renditions of classic Irish football anthems. Starting with Christy Moore's iconic 'Joxer Goes To Stuttgart', which he sang with great aplomb in Cassidy's pub in Dublin on Sunday night.
Incredible. He even lets out a good old 'Here we go!' like any good folk singer.

So just why was Keano belting out the classic tune? Well, Keano was joining Dublin band 'Rake the Ashes' for a bit of a sing-along, and judging by the videos on the band's Facebook page it seems to have been a mighty session. 'Rake the Ashes' play in Cassidy's every Sunday night, though we trust that they aren't joined by Irish football legends every week.
In fact, there might be the chance to bump into Keano at the band's album launch on Saturday 28th January in the Grand Social, which starts at 8PM. See you there!
A big thanks to John O'Neill for generously sending this our way.
