Former Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane has been forced to flee Israel following attacks by Hamas in the country.
The 43-year old has been in charge of Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv since earlier this summer, where he was joined by ex-international teammate Rory Delap on his coaching staff.
Talksport are reporting that both men have now left the country and made their way to Greece, having been held in a panic room following the Hamas attacks.
Robbie Keane flees Israel after Hamas attack
Fighting between Israel and Hamas has resulted in the deaths of well over 400 people (a large proportion of which were civilians) since the early hours of yesterday morning, a number that is expected to rise further in the coming days.
This is viewed as the largest escalation in the longstanding conflict since Hamas took control of Gaza back in 2007.
Robbie Keane was questioned about the political situation in Israel when he took the Maccabi Tel Aviv job earlier this year, saying at the time:
I don't want to get into politics. This is the last time I will say it, I certainly don't want to get into politics.
I'm here as a football man and someone that loves the game, so I will certainly just focus on that.
He has enjoyed a good start to life on the pitch, with the club currently sit top of the Israeli Premier League having taken 13 points from their opening five league games. They also won the opening fixture of their Europa Conference League campaign.
This weekend's fixtures in the Israeli top flight have been postponed as a result of attacks. It is unclear when the league will resume, with no games having been fixed for next week due to an upcoming international break.
As a result, it seems uncertain as to when or if Robbie Keane will return to the country.
