Robbie Brady has said that he enjoyed celebrating in front of the Blackburn Rovers fans after scoring a brilliant goal against them for Preston North End on Saturday.
After spending five seasons at Burnley, Brady was a target of abuse from Rovers fans during the 2-2 draw, due to the rivalry between the two Lancashire clubs.
The prolific Sammie Szmodics showed Ireland fans what they could be missing once again, by firing the away side into the lead, before Brady approached the Blackburn end in the 39th minute to take a corner.
Ignoring the abuse, the Dubliner delivered the set piece into the crowded box and when it came back out to him, he curled a beautiful left-footer into the goal from the side of the box.

Robbie Brady reacts to Blackburn fans
With Ireland teammate Alan Browne by his side, Brady ran towards the Blackburn fans cupping his ears, indicating that he wasn't too fussed about their jeering.
Amazingly, the strike was Brady's first for Preston in over 50 appearances since joining them from Bournemouth in the summer of 2022.
"I hit it well," said Brady afterwards. "It came back to me at a nice pace, I managed to hit it well and it went in. Im just glad to get off the mark now. Yeah, I enjoyed my celebration, it's been coming for a while though."
Preston have been on a good run of form in the Championship of late, winning three and drawing two of their last five games. They are now just two points outside the play-off places in what looks set to be a crowded race involving multiple clubs in the final stretch of the season.
Robbie Brady looking for Ireland recall
Now 32, Brady fell out of favour towards the end of Stephen Kenny's reign as Ireland manager, but he told Sky Bet earlier this week that he has no intention of ending his international career.
"I’m waiting to hear who the new manager is, but you just have to focus on club football," he said.
"That’s the only look that someone can get at you now before they take the job or are appointed as manager.
"For me personally, and for other lads, we’ll be trying to do our best and show our worth to try and get back into the squad.”
