During the summer, Rob Kiernan, an ex-Ireland U21 international signed for Rangers from Wigan.
It's not his first time in Scottish football. Earlier in his career, six years ago to be precise, the English-born player had a brief loan spell with Kilmarnock.
Just a day after signing with Kilmarnock, Kiernan came on as a substitute against Celtic.
Speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, Kieran explained that he had to lie to manager Jimmy Calderwood just to get on the pitch. Playing for Celtic that night, on loan from Spurs, was Robbe Keane.
Jimmy Calderwood asked me if I had ever played there before and I told him: 'Yeah, loads of times'. But I'd never played there in my life! Anything to get on. Afterwards, he grilled me and told me my positioning wasn't great.
I said that was because I'd never played there before. He said: 'So you lied to me then?' He fined me and gave me a clip around the ear!
The then 29-year-old Keane had just signed for Celtic the previous day. His debut for Celtic ended in disappointment, a 1-0 win for Kilmarnock.
Playing against Keane was a joke because he was so sharp. I wasn't ready for his movement at that time. One moment, he was there, the next moment he wasn't.
It was a great experience and I will always be grateful to Kilmarnock for giving me the chance.
