It was a good early kickoff in the Premier League for Irish internationals. We thought BBC Five Live's Terry Butcher comparing Harry Arter to a more mobile Andrea Pirlo couldn't be topped, but then Newcastle goalkeeper Rob Elliot put in the performance of his life to help the Toon beat Bournemouth 1-0 despite Newcastle only having one shot on target in the game.
English fans took notice on twitter, with some unfortunate people doing what others did with Seamus Coleman and Shane Long and calling for Roy Hodgson to give him a call up:
Hahaha it's embarrassing enough to think Rob Elliott English but they think he's better than Hart/Butland/Forster? #Joke #"Fans"
