The first finalist of the 2018 Champions League final was decided as Real Madrid squeezed past Bayern Munich after drawing 2-2 in the Bernabeu, going through 4-3 on aggregate.
In the aftermath of the result Madrid players could be seen wearing t-shirts that read 'a por la 13' which translates as 'to the 13th', referencing the fact that if the Spanish club win the Champions League this season it will be the 13th time they have won Europe's premier club competition.
While not as outright disrespectful as claiming to have already won the competition, it is a weird move from the club who must not be too worried about counting their chickens before they hatch.
People on Twitter have been criticising the decision to get the t-shirts printed seeing the move as arrogant and:
After the game Real Madrid players celebrated with shirts that branded “TO THE 13th” across the front.
Arrogance of the finest from the Spanish giants. pic.twitter.com/IyBfcNjibH

I’ve a feeling Real Madrid might regret wearing those 13 T-shirt’s....... pic.twitter.com/7Wblbrz0x5

Pics of those Real Madrid 13 shirts should be pinned on the dressing room walls of both dressing rooms tomorrow night

Real Madrid are wearing 13 t shirts already? Bad luck that.

Real Madrid deserve to lose in the final if they're wearing '13' shirts already. This could backfire very badly & will I have any sympathy?! None whatsoever.

Graeme Souness was none too impressed with the t-shirts either and while I'm not a particularly superstitious man, I wonder if getting 13 printed on special jerseys to signify winning the Champions League 13 teams is not somewhat ominous. We shall see.
