Richard Dunne slammed some of England's experienced players in the aftermath of their 2-0 victory over Malta at Wembley on Friday night.
Despite getting the job done, Gareth Southgate's side were extremely poor and unconvincing in their manner of victory against their lowly ranked opponents.
While the game was a dead rubber in Group C with England having already qualified for next summer's European Championships in Germany, they will have to significantly improve if they are to harbour any ambitions of winning the tournament.
A Malta own-goal after eight minutes put the Three Lions ahead at half-time but only a late Harry Kane goal could put any sort of gloss on the performance.
Watching on in the Virgin Media studios in Ballymount was Richard Dunne and Darren Randolph.
Dunne, who received 80 caps for Ireland during his career, was particularly critical of Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford.
Henderson is now plying his trade at Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia having left Liverpool controversially during the summer, while Rashford has struggled all season at Manchester United.
Richard Dunne hits out at Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford
"Jordan Henderson looked like someone who is not playing at the highest level, someone who is probably going backwards at this stage of his career.
"With the squad and the players they've got there is probably better choices come another six months time when the squad is picked.
"In terms of Marcus Rashford you're looking at someone who you know is a real threat but he's not performing enough for Man Utd.
"I know Gareth Southgate spoke about his recent record for England but he's gradually going downhill."
🗣 "The fourth official done more running here than Jordan Henderson all night!"
🗣 "Henderson looked like someone not playing at the highest level and is going backwards."
🗣 "Rashford is gradually going downhill."
