Manchester United are entering a new era this summer, both on and off the pitch.
While they will be hoping that Erik ten Hag is the man to reverse their fortunes on the playing side, Richard Arnold is the person that has been tasked with correcting the poor decisions that have been made in the boardroom.
Considering how much money the club have spent in recent seasons, it is fair to say that their transfer policy has been an unmitigated disaster. Not only that, but a lack of investment in other areas has seen their stadium and training ground fall well behind a number of their Premier League rivals in terms of quality.
With the Glazers remaining to be massively unpopular owners, Ed Woodward was the man that had received the majority of the blame for these shortcomings. However, the club's chief executive would leave his role in recent months and be replaced by Richard Arnold.
Whereas Woodward kept his distance from supporters, it appears his successor is much more willing to engage with the fans.
Richard Arnold meets disgruntled Manchester United fans
After a group of Manchester United fans went to protest outside his house, Richard Arnold would then meet the group at a local pub in order to speak openly about the club's problems.
A number of clips of the conversation have been shared online, with the 51-year old discussing some of the shortcomings during the Glazer era.

We have spent £1billion on players, we have spent more than anyone in Europe. I'm not thrilled with where we are, it doesn't sit easy and I worry how we're going to get this sorted for the future.
What's happened is we fucking burned through cash. You can't go to out training ground and say 'show me what that £1billion is here', because I don't think we've done well with the money.
I'm not here to defend Joel [Glazer], he can speak for himself. I wanted to talk to you, you've come here to make your views known and I respect that.
We have blown through an enormous amount of money. For this summer, the money that the manager and director of football wants is there. For the future and investing in new stadiums and stuff, to do a latest and greatest £250million training ground, we've got to get investors in.
I need that to do you I want to do with the club...
Look, last year was a fucking nightmare. It was a nightmare.
Richard Arnold would also address the issues of leaks in the dressing room, something that became a major issue at Manchester united last season.
When asked about this issue, he said "the two sources of the leaks have now left the club". It had been suggested that Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba were two major culprits in this regard, with both players leaving Old Trafford at the end of their contracts this summer.
While this is a good first step in attempting to repair the relationship with the club's supporters, there is still a very long way to go in that regard.
