Republic of Ireland youth international Jonathan Afolabi is set to join Celtic on a free transfer, having left Southampton at the end of last season. The player was told he was no longer needed at the south coast club, and had garnered interest from a number of English teams, as well as a few on the continent.
They were likely impressed with his showing at the U19 European Championships, where he led the line for an Ireland side that would reach the semi-final of the tournament. Afolabi scored against the Czech Republic in the group stage and put in a number of strong showings.
It looks like the player has chosen Celtic as his next destination, and is at Parkhead for the club's game against Dunfermline in the Scottish League Cup.

Afolabi will be join an Irish contingent of Jonny Hayes and Luca Connell in Glasgow.
