Ryan Giggs is expected to leave Man United in the coming days.
The Welshman has spent the last 29 years of his life with the Manchester club - climbing the ranks as a youth player before his decorated playing career and ultimately ended up as a coach under David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal.
He had long been rumoured to have been given assurances about succeeded Louis Van Gaal as manager, but ultimately the Old Trafford powers that be plucked for Jose Mourinho. It's meant that Giggs has been left in limbo, and he is likely to seek a departure from Old Trafford.
Mourinho is looking to bring his backroom team with him to United, with Rui Faria, Silvino Louro, and fitness coach Carlos Lalin expected to join. Faria is Mourinho's preferred assistant, which would leave Giggs having to take a lesser role. Giggs is understood to have been offered a role overseeing the bridge between the first team and the academy - but that would be a big step down for the United legend and one that he may not want to take.
United are keen to keep the 42-year-old on in some capacity, but Giggs looks like he is leaning towards an exit to try and further his coaching career.
