A couple of days ago we laughed Stan Collymore out of it when he put forward the idea of Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane taking over Nottingham Forest but now the Daily Mail are reporting that the club have indeed approached O'Neill to take over for the rest of the season.

They say:

Nottingham Forest have approached Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill, asking him to take over as emergency boss until the end of the season.

The 62-year-old took over as Ireland boss last November but is seen as the man to take over from the departed Billy Davies and steer the club into the Championship play-offs.

Forest hope to discuss terms with O'Neill - who won two European Cups with the club - on Friday.

This has yet to be reported anywhere else so I don't know what to believe. Would it be a disastrous thing to happen or would it have little impact on O'Neill's ability to manage Ireland at the same time?
