It has been a mixed transfer window emotionally for Liverpool fans.

Having finally secured the services of Southampton's Virgil van Dijk, the club were seemingly left with no choice but to part with long-time Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho shortly thereafter.

With many wondering where Liverpool could realistically hope to go this season with their outstanding Brazilian departing, reports from Germany would appear to suggest that Naby Keita - RB Leipzig's 22 year old star who was due to join the Premier League club this summer - could move to Anfield earlier than expected.

Regarding the sources providing this information and how trustworthy their information is, fans of Liverpool in the media seem excited at what they feel is a valid breakthrough in the deal.

It had been felt that if Liverpool were to decide to bring forward Keita's transfer six months, Leipzig would be owed a compensation fee.

Any such figure surrounding this agreement is as yet unclear however.

What remains perfectly clear is the excitement that Liverpool fans will have as they seek to redeem some sense of positivity from this transfer window.

Although Keita's involvement in the Champions League with Leipzig will render him ineligible for the remainder of Liverpool's campaign this season, his presence for the Premier League run in and a potential cup run will be of invaluable use to Jurgen Klopp's side.
