The early bird catches the worm, or some such cliche that applies here. Liverpool are racing ahead in the all important race for transfer window superiority after agreeing a deal to sign Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton.
It was reported earlier that, after a £10 million bid had been rejected, Liverpool had returned with an offer in the region of £12.5 million. That offer has now been accepted.

The right back is out of contract in twelve months, hence the reasonable fee, and he is certainly an upgrade on Liverpool's current options. Glen Johnson has left the club and loanee Javi Manquillo is the only 'senior' right back at the club.
The England international will follow James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez and Roberto Firmino as Liverpool's sixth summer signing before July has even begun.
