Ireland's record goalscorer isn't finished just yet.
Keans has been without a club since he left LA Galaxy, but has been clear that he has no interest in ending his playing days yet. He has been linked with moves to a range of different clubs, with moves to Preston and Shamrock Rovers the most persistent links.
Another link has emerged today, however, via Owen Cowzer of The Irish Sun. The paper report that Keane is set to join Atletico de Kolkata in the Indian Super League, ahead of the new season on October 1st.
The club are managed by another Spurs legend: Teddy Sheringham, and are the league's defending champions.
Keane would not be the first Irish international to play in India, should the move go through: Darren O'Dea spent time under Nicolas Anelka in 2015, while Joe Lapira turned out for United Sikkim F.C and John Devine spent the 1987/88 season with East Bengal.
This also represents the biggest football story involving Ireland and India since, er, last week, when I-League club Kerala Evergreen apologised to Bray Wanderers over the striking similarities of their crests.
The full report is on the Irish Sun's website.
