A number of top Premier League clubs are considering a move for Roma star Cengiz Under, with the Italian side seeking at least £50million fee for the playmaker.
According to the Express, Manchester City have recently sent scouts to watch the Turkey international, with a view of striking a January deal for his services. Pep Guardiola is said to be keen on signing the player, as he seeks to add to his already ridiculous attacking ranks.
They are set to face stiff competition from some of their rivals however. Arsenal have also scouted Under in recent weeks, with the Sun reporting they had representatives at Roma's 2-1 Champions League loss to Viktoria Plzen last night. Under scored in that game, bringing his tally for the season to five goals and five assists.
With Chelsea and Tottenham also keeping tabs on his progress, a January move for the player is looking increasingly on the cards.
Roma will likely want to hang onto the player as they seek to replicate the club's Champions League success from last season, when they exited at the semi-final stage. A massive bid could change their mind, and they are apparently willing to consider bids of around £50million for the 21-year old. Having lost world-class talents in Mohamed Salah and Alisson to Liverpool in the past two summers, they will be keen to extract every bit of value from any potential deal.
Under has four years remaining on his current deal, but is thought to be keen on a move away from the Italian capital. He has also previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.
He is viewed by many as one of the rising stars of European football, and would be an excellent addition to the increasingly star-studded ranks of the English top flight.
