Liverpool announced the signing of Christian Benteke yesterday to the widespread assumption that the signing of the Belgian striker represented the end of Liverpool's dealings in this summer's transfer market.

That assumption may not be wholly true, however. Paris Saint Germain left-back Lucas Digne is believed to have recieived admiring overtures from Anfield and today Laurent Blanc confirmed that Digne has asked to leave the club.

Blanc told L'equipe that

First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave. For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies. This is firstly a very good thing for him and possibly for us, should he stay with us this season.

Rodgers may seek to reinforce the left-back position at Liverpool, with Alberto Moreno's only competition coming from Instagram's Jose Enrique, who is free to leave the club having been omitted from the club's pre-season tour. Digne, 22, is a French international who is also believed to be coveted by Roma and Atletico Madrid.
