Harry Wilson showed some real promise during his loan spell at Derby County last season, but it looks unlikely that he will be granted many first team opportunities at Anfield for the upcoming season.

The 22-year old has proven that he is good enough for the Premier League, and he has been given the opportunity to impress for The Reds in pre-season. However, the level of talent at Anfield will make it difficult to make a real breakthrough.

A move away could suit all parties, although it is not yet clear if it will be on a first team or temporary basis. Either way, there will be no shortage of interested parties.

Football Insider are reporting that Newcastle and Aston Villa are set to battle it out for his signature, with the player keen to secure regular playing time once again next season.

Both sides are open to either loan or permanent moves, which will depend on Liverpool's preference. If they do decide to sell the player, it is speculated they could seek a fee of around £20million.

Wilson is a supremely talented player, and he is reaching an age where he needs to play at the top level on a consistent basis. He has shown flashes of becoming a top quality player, something the Republic of Ireland are all too familiar with.

Liverpool may be hesitant to let him leave on a permanent basis, as there is still plenty of time for him to develop into a player of real quality. However, the playing time required to do so may not be forthcoming in Merseyside.

Aston Villa and Newcastle are both interesting options, and you would imagine he would be a key player in either team.

Villa have had a busy window, recruiting 11 first team players. Newcastle have been less so, and the player could be hesitant to move to a club with such a negative current atmosphere.

This is certainly one to keep an eye on.
