Jose Mourinho is gearing up for a big pre-season as he looks to invest in his squad in order to compete with Pep Guardiola's Man City. With that investment comes a clear-out, and the club has started to reveal which players are free to leave.

According to a report in the Times today, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind have been told they are free to leave Man United this summer. The report suggests talks are already underway between United and Juventus for Darmian's services.

Both players are reported to have been excluded from a recent photoshoot for next season's Manchester United kit.

Blind and Darmian have found game time hard to come by this season as Mourinho has entrusted Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young as his full-backs. The number of competitors at centre-back further limited Blind's opportunities. Manchester United have been linked to several players to strengthen these positions such as Danny Rose, Kieran Tierney and Kevin Malcuit.

United's season is not over as they do have an FA Cup final to look forward too, but for the Italian and Dutchman, it looks like the end is nigh.
