Troy Parrott endured a difficult campaign last season.
Much was expected of the Dubliner when he joined Millwall on loan. However, a mixture of injuries and poor form meant he made little impact in the Championship.
Parrott would take the step down to League One with Ipswich Town in January, once again finding it tough going early on.
Despite this, there were some flashes towards the end of the season. His club form would pick up, while the 19-year old was also score a brace for Ireland in their victory over Andorra in June.
That a put a more positive outlook on his prospect for the 21/22 season, although it remained unclear where he would be playing his football. With a first team breakthrough at Spurs seeming unlikely, another loan move seemed the obvious option.
This time Parrott and Spurs would have to be more careful in choosing his destination, with another year of wasted development not something either party could afford. It looks as though they have now found a solution.
Mick McGrath of The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Troy Parrott is set to join MK Dons on loan, with a medical taking place today.
MK Dons are currently in League One, finishing in 13th place last season. They boast another young Irish prospect on their books in the form of former Brighton defender Warren O'Hora.
They are also known for playing attacking football, something that should suit Parrott. This was not always the case at his previous clubs.
The striker is likely to play a part of Ireland over the remainder of the World Cup qualifying campaign, so it would be a huge boost to see him performing well at club level ahead of the September international window.
All eyes will be on Milton Keynes for the next few weeks.
