While Manchester United have not yet confirmed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their new permanent manager, the club are still planning for the upcoming summer transfer window. It will be a massively important period for the club, as they attempt to narrow the gap between themselves and Premier League leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.

While the defence should be an area of priority, United are apparently also keen to recruit a winger. They have recently been linked with a shock move for Chelsea youngster Callum Huson-Odoi, but they have also maintained an interest in a long-term target.

Corriero dello Sport are reporting that the club are still tracking Belgium wide player Yannick Carrasco, with a view to a summer transfer. The 25-year old is currently plying his trade in China, having moved to Dalian Yifang in February of 2018.

He is reportedly now seeking on a move back to Europe, with United one of a number of clubs interested. The player was linked with a switch to Old Trafford in January, and the club are still keen on the former Atletico Madrid man.

AC Milan are believed to be their main competitors for the players signature, but United should be able to trump any financial offer from the Italian club should they so choose.

With Marcus Rashford now almost exclusively operating from a central role, there is room for another winger in the United squad. Alexis Sanchez has been a disaster at the club, and it would not be wise to depend on the Chilean to rediscover his Arsenal form at this stage. Juan Mata's future at the club also looks uncertain, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

That would place a large burden on Anthony Martial, meaning bring in another body in that area of the pitch could be the right move.

Carrasco still possesses plenty of potential, even if he has not hit the heights his early form at Atletico Madrid suggested he would. At 25-years old, a move to Old Trafford could be what is needed to get his career back on track.
