Report: Manchester United Eye Serial League Winner As Sancho Alternative

Despite the success Manchester United's new look front three of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood experienced since the restart of the Premier League season, it is expected that the club will make a move for a winger this summer.

Jadon Sancho has been the name most frequently linked, but prising him away from Borussia Dortmund will not be easy. The German club will seek a fee in excess of £100million for his services. Such a transfer could be difficult to negotiate in the current climate.

While Sancho remains their number one priority, United are also looking at potential alternatives. According to the Evening Standard, one such player is Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman.

The Frenchman has scored four goal and registered four assists in 25 Bundesliga appearances this season, but could see his playing time reduced in the coming months due to the arrival of Leroy Sane in Bavaria. United believe that they could even negotiate a loan deal for the player.

The report also suggest that the Manchester United hierarchy are unwilling to part with more than £75million for one player this summer, making the Sancho deal unlikely.

Coman would certainly be an excellent backup option. He is a player with no shortage of experience at the top level despite being only 24-years old. Should he make his way to Old Trafford, the club will be hoping he can bring with his his winning touch.

Coman boasts the remarkable record of winning a league title in every one of his nine seasons as a professional footballer, spread across three countries during spells with PSG, Juventus, and Bayern Munich.

Manchester United's current front three have been in wonderful form, but the evidence of tired legs in that area of the pitch during recent games is an indication that they will need to strengthen this summer.

The 22-cap France international would certainly tick that box.
