Manchester United have shown some serious signs of life under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and it would be very surprising if the Norwegian is not given the job on a permanent basis at this stage. Despite the upturn in results, it remains clear that the United squad is in need of some reinforcements this summer.
The centre of defence is a problem position, as is right back. Another central midfielder could also be sought. However, it appears that they have set their sights on recruiting another wide player. Not only this, but they are willing to pay a club record fee to get their man.
The Mirror are reporting that United want to sign Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho, and are willing to pay over £100million to secure his signature. That would well eclipse the club record of £89million set in the Paul Pogba deal.
The 18-year old former Manchester City academy player has been an absolute revelation since moving to the Bundesliga, notching nine goals and 14 assists for Dortmund this season. He is quickly becoming one of the brightest prospects in world football.

His form has not gone unnoticed by the biggest teams on the continent, with PSG also rumoured to be keeping tabs on his situation.
While Dortmund would no doubt like to keep the player, they would likely be willing to do a deal at the right price. Having paid £10million for Sancho just over 18 months ago, they are certain to recoup a monstrous profit in any potential transfer.
His fit at Old Trafford would seem less certain, however. United already have a number of wingers such as Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial, while Marcus Rashford has also spent the majority of his career on the wing thus far.
The arrival of Sancho would likely mean a permanent move into a central role for Rashford, which would ultimately result in the departure of Romelu Lukaku from the club. Ed Woodward would probably also like to see the back of Alexis Sanchez and his £500,000 per-week wages, but shifting such a monumental contract will prove a difficult task.
It is also woth noting that Manchester City are rumoured to have the first refusal in any Sancho deal, meaning they have the right to match any offers received for the youngster. The player himself then would have the final say on where he would move.
