Irish defender Conor Masterson is set to leave Liverpool this summer, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. The 20-year old is a former Lucan United player, moving to the Merseyside club on a full-time basis in 2014.
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that the player will seek a new challenge when his current expires.
Masterson has yet to make a first team appearance at Liverpool, but has been on the fringes of the senior squad for some time now. He has made the bench on three occasions, including for the Champions League quarter final first leg against Manchester City last season.
Having impressed in the U18 and U23 side, Masterson has been training with the first team since last season. Injuries have hampered his progress, however, and the player is now set to move on.
While his time at Liverpool is coming to an end, Masterson is still a big prospect for Ireland. He impressed in the Ireland U21 side's win over Luxembourg earlier this year, starring at centre back in the 3-0 win.
