FIFA are investigating what must rank as the most bizarre incident of the World Cup so far after a drone was spotted hovering over a French training session in Ribeirão Preto before their opening game against Honduras. French coach Didier Deschamps was not impressed:

“Apparently drones are used more and more, It’s not up to me. Fifa handles this and has been carrying out an inquiry; we don’t want any intrusion into our privacy. It’s very hard to fight this these days.”

It is not yet known who was behind the stunt or frankly what the bloody hell was going on here, but while we all would like to see more technology in football, this is probably stretching it.
