Learning the ropes at Man City's academy was always going to be a huge learning curve for Romal Palmer, breaking into Pep Guardiola's senior set-up was never going to be easy but it seems he has found a spark that may ignite his career under Stephen Kenny at Inchicore.
Palmer left City eight years ago as he moved to then championship side Barnsley, in what seemed to be a progressive move in the Englishman's career. Despite making over 70 appearances for the club, Palmer struggled to make an impact and made a move to Turkish premier division side Goztepe in 2022.
The move provided valuable experience for Palmer and he was on the move again when Pats came calling to take him on loan in February this year. A move that excited the midfielder and it is no surprise his impressive form is beginning to attract interest from EFL clubs as he continues to flourish under Stephen Kenny at St Pats.
Well-regarded Football Insider journalist Pete O'Rourke reported last night that a number of EFL clubs are weighing up the option of making a bid to sign Palmer. He reported that Palmer is currently in talks with several of the interested clubs.

Where to next for Romal Palmer
Palmer is currently enjoying the best period of his career and his goal in the first half of Thursday’s Europa Conference League tie at home to FC Sabah was an example of that. The box to box midfielder has slotted seamlessly into the Pats midfield and speculation about his future will come as a huge disappointment to the Inchicore faithful.

26 years old next month, Palmer is looking to settle at a club for a sustained period and make a name for himself as he begins to show the form that got him recognised by Man City when he was 16.
Palmer it seems is beginning to realise the potential that has seen him pick up over 100 first team appearances throughout his career to date and fans at Richmond Park will no doubt want rumours of his return to the EFL dismissed quickly.
