It's an extremely exciting time for Irish football with numerous young players gaining interest from clubs around Europe. 15 year-old David Dunne seems to be the next as he is spending this week with Spanish side Real Sociedad having been offered a week-long trial with the Spanish heavyweights.
The teenager plays for Cork City and has starred on the wing and captained their under-15 side this season scoring 10 goals while also lining out for the clubs under 17s too.
As exclusively reported by Mark McCadden in the Irish Daily Star, Sociedad will spend this week monitoring the youngster, who will then return to Cork. If they decide to sign Dunne, they will have to wait until after his 16th birthday next February. That's a sign of just how young he is.
A winger who can play on both sides, he has found the net this year on the international stage also. He scored against Greece last November in a UEFA Development Tournament win, while he featured in victories over Serbia and Venezuela throughout the campaign and is building up his reputation of one of the best young Irish talents around at the moment.

Here is an example of the brilliance Dunne is capable of producing, it is no surprise he is on the radar of Sociedad among a number of other European clubs with flashes of brilliance like this.
Understandably he is still young but new Irish manager Heimir Hallgrímsson can look forward to seeing plenty more of Dunne in the future.

• Can’t say I’m surprised by this since the kids a serious talent and I honestly think if he doesn’t go he could be in the City team before he’s 18

This week presents a massive opportunity in the career of the youngster. If Dunne continues to progress, there's no doubt we will be seeing him in a senior International jersey in the coming years.
