It seems Aaron Ramsey is a wanted man. The Welsh midfielder's contract at Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the season, when he will leave the club on a free transfer.
Contract negotiations between the two parties have been at a standstill since the start of the campaign, with Arsenal apparently unwilling to meet the player's high wage demands. Unai Emery is reportedly happy for the player to move on, as he seeks to mould the team in his image.
Ramsey is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with European clubs starting tomorrow, and there appears to be no shortage of interest in his services.
The BBC are reporting that no fewer than five top European clubs will speak to the player this month. The teams he will meet with are PSG, Real Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. Not a bad haul. Real Madrid are of course home to Ramsey's international teammate Gareth Bale, and one would imagine that Bale would be keen to link up with the midfielder in the Spanish capital.
The midfielder would also be attractive to PSG, as they are faced to work under some tighter budget constraints due to the massive deals for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. They are also expected to lose Adrien Rabiot at the end of the season, and the Welshman would be a like-for-like replacement.
Juventus have made a habit of picking up players on free transfers in recent seasons, with Emre Can's move from Liverpool the latest example.
Ramsey is believed to be seeking a salary of around £120,000 per-week, a number that these five clubs would have no trouble meeting should they so choose. The player's preferred choice is thought to be currently Juventus, although nothing has been decided for certain as of yet.
One thing that does appear certain is that Ramsey will be plying his trade for one of the continent's biggest clubs next season.
