We'd been reminiscing on Twitter today about the glorious game that was the Tomy Super Cup Football. Admist all the nostalgia, Bruno Belone sent us this glorious video, which first captured my attention and then quickly captured my heart.
I was one of those lucky kids who owned the Tomy Super Cup game and this televised final between Everton and Man United has brought back some brilliant memories. It includes some hilarious pre-match commentary and an equally funny minute's silence for Billy Dunlop, a spare part who had died of leukaemia shortly before the game.
Interestingly, although the final was played in 2011 both sides named unchanged teams for the 24th year in a row, with Kevin Moran, Paul McGrath and Kevin Sheedy among those lining out.
Now that we're talking Tomy Super Cup Football we never want to stop. We're planning a tournament, and inviting competitors. Details to be announced soon. Get those fingers nice and nimble!
